This event is part of the cultural season 2026-2027 "J-Lioum : ce qui vient" and features three horror films that showcase different approaches to the genre.

The event will kick off with the screening of "La Robe peau", a 15-minute animated short film directed by French filmmaker Joachim Hérissé. The film tells the story of an old tailor who is haunted by memories of the past and creates a beautiful yet unsettling outfit. This short film will be screened at the beginning of each evening of the event.

The Moroccan cinema will also be represented with the screening of "Hôtel de la paix", a 1 hour and 27 minutes feature film directed by Jamal Belmejdoub. The film is about a hotel that is haunted by supernatural phenomena and dark secrets. The film features a cast of Moroccan actors, including Mohammed Choubi, Benaissa El Jirari, Sami Fekkak, and Salwa Zarhane.

The third film to be screened is "Sanguine" by Marion Le Coroller, a 1 hour and 43 minutes French film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The film starts in a medical emergency setting and gradually descends into a nightmare where the body becomes a source of horror. The film features a cast of French actors, including Mara Taquin, Karin Viard, Kim Higelin, and Sami Outalbali.

The films will be screened in different cities and combinations, with Casablanca, Marrakech, Meknès, and Rabat hosting all three films, while other cities will host two films. The event aims to provide a unique cinematic experience that goes beyond the traditional Halloween celebrations.

The Institut français du Maroc is highlighting the diversity of approaches to the horror genre, showcasing not only new forms of narrative but also the use of traditional special effects and techniques.
