Huachen International Supply Chain Limited, a leading logistics company, is seeking to employ two experienced Fleet Operations Supervisors to join their growing team in Ndola, Zambia. The successful candidates will oversee and manage day-to-day cross-border fleet movements and operations between Zambia, DRC, and Tanzania. The job requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in logistics and transport management.
The Fleet Operations Supervisors will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily transport and fleet operations, monitoring truck movements, and supervising drivers and operational staff. They will also ensure that all trucks have valid documentation before dispatch and monitor driver performance, discipline, and attendance. Additionally, they will coordinate with Fleet Managers regarding truck availability, breakdowns, and maintenance.
To qualify for the position, candidates must have a diploma or degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. They must also have at least 2-3 years of experience as a fleet officer, fleet supervisor, or fleet manager, with experience working with cross-border fleet transportation into DRC and Tanzania. Familiarity with the routes, documentation, border and toll fees, and clearance procedures is essential.
The ideal candidates will be residents of Ndola, Kitwe, or the Copperbelt, and membership with the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) will be an added advantage. They must have strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word, and possess good planning and coordination abilities, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
The successful candidates will be required to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, handle operational challenges, and provide timely solutions. They will also maintain effective communication with clients and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with company SOPs, safety requirements, and transport regulations.
