The Regional Police Training School in Ho has held a 10-kilometre cross-country selection exercise as part of preparations for the national competition scheduled for October 24, 2026, in Accra. A total of 47 recruits participated in the race, displaying endurance, discipline, determination and competitive spirit as they competed for places in the provisional squad. The top 15 finishers were selected to undergo further training and assessment ahead of the main event. The winner completed the 10-kilometre course in 40 minutes, 22 seconds, while the 15th-placed athlete recorded a time of 45 minutes, 32 seconds. Following the additional training and assessment, 10 of the 15 athletes will be selected to represent the Ho Depot at the Inter-Depot finals, with the remaining five serving as reserves.
Chief Superintendent Rosina Donkor Gariba, Officer Commanding the Regional Police Training School, Ho, commended the recruits for their enthusiasm and participation. She acknowledged the leadership and support of the School’s Second-in-Command, instructors, Sports Unit team and personnel towards the success of the exercise. The strong participation demonstrated by the recruits underscored the importance of the Inter-Depot initiative in strengthening the sporting culture of the Ghana Police Service.
