The Tinubu Health Practitioners Alliance has urged health practitioners to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, citing ongoing reforms in the health sector. National Coordinator Dr. Ogechi Lokpobiri highlighted government interventions in medical education, healthcare infrastructure, workforce development, and health financing. These efforts aim to strengthen Nigeria's healthcare system and expand access to medical services. The Renewed Hope Agenda prioritizes initiatives to improve the training and availability of skilled health professionals.

Dr. Lokpobiri commended the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, and the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, for their roles in advancing healthcare reforms. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the health and education ministries in producing competent professionals, upgrading medical institutions, and improving healthcare outcomes. Stronger collaboration is essential to achieving these goals and addressing longstanding challenges in healthcare delivery.

The administration's efforts have led to significant increases in nursing and midwifery education. According to Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare figures, annual enrolment quotas for nursing and midwifery training institutions rose from 28,000 in May 2023 to 115,000 for the 2025 academic year. This expansion aims to increase the supply of trained health professionals and address staffing shortages across hospitals and primary healthcare facilities.

The retraining of over 69,000 frontline health workers nationwide is another key development. The Federal Government has also approved recruitment waivers for 20,000 additional health personnel, with nurses and midwives expected to account for 60 per cent of the positions. These initiatives demonstrate the government's commitment to addressing healthcare workforce challenges and improving healthcare delivery.

Dr. Lokpobiri welcomed the Nigeria Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery 2025–2030, which provides a framework for strengthening professional education, leadership, regulation, and workforce development. This strategic plan aims to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing and midwifery services, ultimately improving healthcare outcomes. The plan's implementation will be crucial in sustaining investments in the sector.

As the wife of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Lokpobiri emphasized the need to sustain investments in the health sector to consolidate ongoing reforms. This will be essential in addressing longstanding challenges in healthcare delivery and ensuring that the progress made so far is not reversed. The Tinubu Health Practitioners Alliance will continue to support the government's efforts to improve Nigeria's healthcare system.

The group's endorsement of President Tinubu's re-election bid is contingent on the completion of ongoing reforms in the health sector. With the progress made so far, stakeholders are optimistic that continued support for the government's initiatives will yield positive results. The implementation of these reforms will be crucial in determining the future of Nigeria's healthcare system.
