The governor of Haut Uele province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jean Bakomito Gambu, has officially handed over 16 engines to the provincial public works department in Isiro. The ceremony took place at the former CFU market in the Mambaya commune, in the presence of provincial and national deputies, as well as several competent authorities.

The engines are intended for the maintenance and upkeep of national and provincial roads, as well as the rehabilitation of agricultural desert roads. According to the provincial executive, this acquisition, carried out in accordance with the budgetary forecasts adopted by the Provincial Assembly, will enable the province to have its own means to quickly intervene on its road network.

The acquisition of these engines is part of the province's budgetary forecasts, and it is expected that the remaining 14 engines will be delivered soon. With these new engines, the province aims to sustainably maintain its roads. The governor emphasized that improving the road network is a vital aspect of his policy, particularly to connect the city of Isiro to the six territories and contribute to the province's development.

Three mobile brigades will be deployed simultaneously in the city of Isiro, along the Isiro-Medje and Isiro-Bolebole axes. The governor stressed that this action is part of his government's program, inspired by the vision of President Felix Antoine Tshisekedi. He also called on the public works department to make good use of these engines.

The president of the Haut Uele Provincial Assembly, Justin Zamba Ndezu, welcomed the acquisition, highlighting the fruit of close collaboration between the provincial government and the Provincial Assembly. This handover comes just days after the definitive reception of national road number 26 (RN26) and provincial road number 426 (RP426) and their official handover to traffic.

The engines will enable the province to intervene quickly on its road network, which is essential for the province's development. The governor's program aims to improve the living conditions of the population by facilitating access to basic services and promoting economic growth.

The provincial government is committed to continuing the development of the province's infrastructure, and the acquisition of these engines is a significant step in this direction. The engines will be used to maintain and rehabilitate the province's roads, which will have a positive impact on the local economy and the population's quality of life.
