The Committee for the Organization of Miss Guinea (COOSMIGUI) has launched the fourth edition of the Miss Guinée competition, with a press conference held in Conakry. The event was attended by committee members, representatives of Guinea in international competitions, and several partners. This year's theme is "Women and Environment, Female Leadership for a Sustainable Guinea." The conference aimed to present the key aspects of the 2026-2027 edition and upcoming international events.
The COOSMIGUI president, Aminata Diallo, explained the objective of the meeting: to present the Miss Guinée candidates who will participate in international competitions and launch the competition's activities. The activities will begin on October 14th, with regional preselections starting in Nzérékoré. Last year, the eligibility age range was 18-25; this year, it has been expanded to 18-35 years old. The committee has already received several applications from across the country.
According to Lassine Koné, a member of the organizing committee, this year's program maintains the same activities as previous editions but with a greater emphasis on correcting past mistakes. The committee has taken into account criticisms and suggestions from previous years. Koné expressed gratitude to the media for their support since the competition's inception.
The COOSMIGUI has announced that regional preselections will take place in several cities, starting with Nzérékoré on October 14th, followed by Kankan on October 17th, and then the Moyenne-Guinée region on October 24th. The final regional preselection will be held in Boké. The committee will also hold a special preselection event in Conakry.
The COOSMIGUI vice-president, Moudatou Bah, presented three international competitions in which Guinea will participate. These include Miss Global, which is currently taking place in Thailand, with Fatima Baldé representing Guinea. The main goal is to promote Guinean culture and representation internationally. Guinea will also participate in Miss Univers, to be held in Porto Rico in November, with Justine Camara as its representative.
Justine Camara, who will represent Guinea at Miss Univers, expressed her determination to promote the country's image and highlight Guinean women. She emphasized her commitment to representing Guinea with dignity and promoting the country's beauty, landscapes, and youth. Camara also mentioned her association, which aims to contribute to the well-being of disadvantaged children in Guinea.
Matoma Condé, Miss Guinée 2026, will represent Guinea at Miss Cosmos in Vietnam in December. The COOSMIGUI aims to strengthen its international ambitions and promote female leadership. The committee's efforts focus on empowering women and promoting Guinean culture globally.
