The Association des Professionnels de la Publicité en Guinée (APP) held its first general assembly on October 31, 2026, in Kobayah, marking a significant step towards structuring and modernizing the advertising sector in Guinea. The event brought together nearly 40 companies, united by a common vision and objective. The assembly allowed for the installation of the new president and executive bureau, as well as the presentation of the association's accomplishments and future plans.

According to APP's Secretary General, Alpha Oumar Barry, the association has made significant progress since its establishment, including obtaining official approval, acquiring a new headquarters, integrating into the Guinean Employers' Confederation (CGE-GUI), and establishing a joint committee with the Order of Guinean Advertisers (OGP). Barry emphasized that these achievements demonstrate the collective effort and commitment of the advertising professionals to build a strong, credible, and representative organization.

The advertising sector plays a vital role in the development of businesses and the national economy, contributing to visibility, investment valuation, job creation, skills development, and economic dynamism. Barry highlighted the importance of the sector, stating that it goes beyond promoting brands and products. He also emphasized the need for unity and collective action to strengthen the profession and address future challenges.

Outgoing APP President, Ibrahima Dieng, praised the new leadership for their accomplishments, acknowledging the difficulties faced in the past. He encouraged the new team to build on previous achievements and prioritize collective interests over individual ones. Dieng stressed the importance of cohesion, dialogue, and unity in achieving sustainable success and realizing the sector's full potential.

The new APP President emphasized the need to address past tensions and divisions within the profession, while looking towards the future. He acknowledged that despite differences, progress has been made in reconciling actors, and that the association must continue to work towards becoming a strong force for proposal and change.

The President highlighted that unity does not imply agreement on all issues but rather the ability to prioritize collective interests and engage in constructive dialogue. He called on members to mobilize and work together to build a modern, structured, and competitive sector, emphasizing that collective action can defend the profession more effectively than individual efforts.

The first general assembly marks a significant milestone in the APP's efforts to unite professionals and strengthen the organization of the advertising sector in Guinea.
