He attributed the lake's contamination to residents dumping waste into the lake at night, blocking water flow, and causing significant damage.
Equipment has been mobilized to support the cleanup operation, including a machine and truck provided by the commune, as well as tools and protective gear supplied by the project. However, resources remain insufficient, and local officials are calling for additional support to effectively clean and develop the lake.
Authorities plan to install signs prohibiting waste disposal around the lake and impose penalties for non-compliance. Lama You Camara urged the community to take collective responsibility for protecting the lake and making it a priority in their development plans.
