GUICOPRES, a Guinean company, has partnered with the Agence de Sécurité et de Coopération pour le Développement (ASCAD) to provide training to young Guineans. The program, which focused on practical skills, aimed to equip 51 young people, including 5 women, with the skills needed to drive heavy-duty and super heavy-duty trucks. The training, which lasted for three months, was delivered with a 70% practical and 30% theoretical approach.

The partnership between GUICOPRES and ASCAD is part of a long-term commitment to support the development of Guinean youth. Under the leadership of its President and CEO, Kerfalla Camara, GUICOPRES has been working with ASCAD for several years to provide training and employment opportunities to young people. The company's social responsibility policy aligns with the vision of President Mamadi Doumbouya, who prioritizes youth development.

The training program was evaluated through a final assessment, which marked the end of the three-month training period. The evaluation was attended by Karamoko II Kaba, Deputy Managing Director of GUICOPRES, and Amadou Keïta, Deputy Managing Director of ASCAD. Both officials highlighted the excellence of the partnership and its impact on the lives of young Guineans.

According to Kaba, ASCAD embodies a presidential priority in terms of training for Guinean youth. He emphasized that GUICOPRES is committed to supporting the agency and providing a professional framework for young people who excel in their training. Keïta, on the other hand, described GUICOPRES as a partner that contributes to the training of vulnerable young people and supports the state's policy of prioritizing youth qualification.

The partnership between GUICOPRES and ASCAD has been described as a model for collaboration between private companies and public institutions. The two parties have decided to expand their collaboration to other areas, including plumbing, electricity, and maintenance. The goal is to provide more opportunities for young Guineans to acquire skills and access employment.

The beneficiaries of the training program have expressed their gratitude to GUICOPRES and ASCAD for the opportunity. Aissatou Keita, who spoke on behalf of the trainees, described the training as invaluable for their future careers. The presence of women among the beneficiaries highlights the opening up of a traditionally male-dominated profession.

The partnership between GUICOPRES and ASCAD demonstrates that collaboration between private companies and public institutions can lead to concrete opportunities for young people. The program has provided a platform for young Guineans to acquire skills, gain experience, and access employment.
