The Governor of Upper Nile State, James Koang Chuol, has reconstituted the state government by appointing a caretaker cabinet, commissioners for the state’s 13 counties, and other officials. This move comes after the dissolution of the national and state governments last month. The appointments were made through a gubernatorial order issued recently.

The caretaker ministers appointed by Governor Koang include Philip Amum Amon as Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement, Paul Kur Ajang as Minister of Information and Communications, and Lam Amos Agook as Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment. Other appointments include Angok Deng Kuol as Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Forestry, Nyanuer William Nyuon as Minister of Health, Luke Sadalla Deng as Minister of General Education and Instruction, and Chuol Dep Kier as Minister of Roads, Bridges and Physical Infrastructure.

The order relieves Paul Biel Pal of his position as Upper Nile State Coordinator in Juba. The Governor’s order takes effect on the date of its signature by the Caretaker Governor.

The appointments are aimed at ensuring the continued governance and administration of the state. The caretaker cabinet and county commissioners will be responsible for overseeing the state’s affairs until a new government is formed. The Governor’s move is expected to bring stability and continuity to the state.
