The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation (GFGF) has completed a GH¢ 616,858.00 water system in Brahabebome, a community in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality. The facility includes a 40,000-liter water storage system, two mechanised boreholes, and four standpipes. This project aims to provide safe and reliable water supply to the community, supporting its increasing population. The GFGF collaborated with the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, Water and Sanitation team, and the Landlords Association in Brahabebome to ensure the project's success.
The completion of the project contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG's 3, 6, 11, and 17. According to Madam Sandra Deladem Woanyah, Project Manager of the GFGF, the facility will significantly impact the community. The GFGF handed over the project to the Landlords Association and the Water and Sanitation team to ensure proper maintenance and sustainability.
