The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Prof. Justin Green, has extended an invitation to Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido to attend the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja. Green made the appeal at a reception dinner organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in his honour, hosted by Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines.
The World Public Relations Forum and the 37th African Public Relations Association Conference are scheduled to take place from November 15 to 21, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. Green highlighted Davido's unique ability to connect with young people across different countries, religions, and backgrounds, making his participation a valuable addition to the global public relations gathering.
The forum will bring together communication and public relations professionals, as well as representatives of major international organisations, including the World Bank, United Nations, African Union, European Commission, Interpol, and customs. Green expressed his enthusiasm for Davido's potential participation, stating that it would be a celebration of his global influence and connection with the youth.
Green also invited other organisations and industries, both domestic and international, to participate in the forum, emphasising the Global Alliance's openness to their support and involvement. He noted that the event would provide an opportunity to showcase Nigeria to the international community, attracting representatives from over 100 countries worldwide.
Nigeria secured the right to host the forum after competing against countries from across the world, according to Green. He emphasised that the forum would not only be a celebration of public relations but also an economic, cultural, and international gathering, with the Global Alliance expecting the eyes of the world to be on Nigeria during the event.
Dr. Ike Neliaku, President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, commended Green for his contributions to strengthening African representation within the Global Alliance. Neliaku expressed the institute's commitment to making the forum the biggest and most successful World Public Relations Forum ever held.
The event is expected to demonstrate Nigeria's capacity to deliver a successful international event, showcasing its resilience and strengths to the world. Okonkwo, who hosted the reception dinner, expressed his optimism about Nigeria's prospects, despite the growing trend of Nigerians emigrating abroad in search of better opportunities.
