The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has urged media organisations and journalists to intensify publicity and coverage for the Sacred Crown Awards 2026. The awards, scheduled for October 30 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, aim to celebrate outstanding contributions to society and promote Ghanaian and African cultural heritage. This initiative is a collaboration between the GJA and the Office of the Ga Mantse.

The Sacred Crown Awards 2026 is an initiative championed by King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse. The awards seek to recognise individuals and institutions whose contributions have positively impacted society while advancing African heritage, spirituality, and wellness values. The GJA described the awards as a significant platform for celebrating excellence, preserving cultural identity, and promoting unity and collective well-being.

According to the GJA, the initiative provides an important opportunity to showcase Ghana’s rich cultural heritage while recognising individuals and institutions contributing to social cohesion, national development, and societal advancement. The Association commended the Ga Mantse for championing the initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts to preserve, protect, and promote Ghanaian and African cultural heritage.

The GJA emphasised that the media has a critical responsibility to promote initiatives highlighting positive societal contributions, strengthening cultural identity, and fostering national unity. The Association urged media houses, editors, reporters, broadcasters, and other media practitioners to give the event extensive publicity and coverage to enhance public awareness and ensure its success.

Recognising individuals and institutions making meaningful contributions to society can inspire others to pursue excellence, serve their communities, and contribute to national development. The GJA observed that the awards’ focus on African heritage, spirituality, and wellness offers an opportunity to deepen public appreciation of the continent’s cultural values and traditions.

The Association expressed confidence that the ceremony would bring together stakeholders from diverse sectors to celebrate achievement and reflect on the importance of cultural preservation, social harmony, and collective well-being. The GJA appealed to individuals, corporate organisations, traditional authorities, and other stakeholders to support the initiative.

The Association reiterated the expectation of a successful ceremony and urged the media to play an active role in projecting the vision and values behind the awards. The GJA is confident that with the media's support, the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 will be a significant success.
