Ghanaian fashion influencer Nana Akua Addo has been hospitalized after an alleged assault by her husband, Harold Norman. A video circulating online shows her with visible injuries, including a swollen lip and a cut beneath her eye, with blood on her clothes and the floor. The footage has sparked widespread concern and condemnation of domestic violence in Ghana. Many have taken to social media to express their shock and disappointment at the incident.

Manager to Nana Akua Addo, Dapper Jayden, has spoken out against men who abuse women, posting on Instagram that a man who makes his home a place of fear has no place pretending to be a man of honour. He emphasized that society has no room for people who use violence against those they should protect. Jayden's comments have been met with support from many who are calling for an end to domestic violence.

Media personality Sammy Flex Baah has also weighed in on the issue, calling for the protection of celebrities. He noted that while social media often presents a glamorous image of celebrities' lives, the reality can be much more challenging. Baah expressed his sympathy for Nana Akua Addo and urged the public to support and protect celebrities who may be going through difficult times.

However, the lawyer for Harold Duodu Norman, Emmanuel Bright Atokoh Esq., has denied claims that he assaulted his wife. According to the lawyer, the incident in question occurred in 2021 when Mr. Norman returned from an event and was accused of infidelity by his wife, who allegedly attempted to stab him with a knife. The lawyer claims that his client acted in self-defence and that the injury was sustained when a dressing mirror broke.

The lawyer further alleged that Nana Akua Addo has a history of violence, claiming that this was the third time she had stabbed her husband during their marriage. He stated that previous incidents were reported to the police but were later withdrawn to protect her public image and for the sake of their children. The lawyer also claimed that Nana Akua Addo has been on the run from investigators since July 2026 over a separate complaint of domestic violence against the children of the marriage.

In response to the allegations, Nana Akua Addo's lawyers have issued a statement saying that the videos of her injuries were leaked without her knowledge and consent. They noted that the matter is sub judice and before the appropriate authorities, and expressed confidence in the Ghana Police Service and the court system to handle the domestic violence case.
