Ghana has made its historic debut at the WorldSkills International Competition, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to showcase its technical and vocational talent on the global stage. The 48th WorldSkills Competition officially opened on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Shanghai, China, bringing together competitors from different countries.
Representing Ghana are three young competitors competing in Welding, Electrical Installations, and IT Network Systems Administration. The Ghanaian delegation is being led by the Director-General of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), Mr. Zakaria Sulemana, alongside officials from the Commission supporting the team throughout the competition.
