The Ghana Police Service, through the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, provided details about the investigations into alleged illicit online activities. The police had been monitoring a TikTok account operating under the name “Ghana Jollof” and identified the account owner as Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, who is believed to be domiciled in the United Kingdom.
According to COP Donkor, Barbara Kodua had used the TikTok platform to produce and publish videos containing inciteful comments and false information. One of the videos under investigation claimed that there had been a near coup d’état at the Jubilee House. The police identified Salomey Awitti Baffoh as an alleged accomplice who assisted in disseminating the videos.
