The Ghana AI Summit & Awards 2027, the third edition of Ghana's premier artificial intelligence gathering, is scheduled to take place from March 30 to 31, 2027, in Accra. The event, organised by Data Nyansa, Deloitte Ghana, and partners, will bring together policymakers, business leaders, technology companies, investors, researchers, entrepreneurs, innovators, development partners, and civil society organisations.
The Summit, themed "The Intelligent Future: People. Policy. Profit. Progress," aims to translate artificial intelligence into tangible economic and social benefits. It will feature the African AI Roundtable, connecting Ghana with the wider African AI ecosystem. The event is designed to be more than a conference, serving as a platform for knowledge exchange, practical learning, partnerships, investment, innovation, and action.
As AI increasingly influences business models, public services, employment, education, and economic competitiveness, the Summit will create a platform for stakeholders to consider Ghana's responsible adoption of AI. The event will focus on four interconnected dimensions of Ghana's AI future: the people who will develop and use AI, policies to guide its responsible adoption, businesses creating value through AI, and the innovation and progress required to ensure its benefits are broadly shared.
Dr. Kwami Ahiabenu, Chair of the Ghana AI Summit 2026, stated that the event had become an important feature on Ghana's technology and innovation calendar. He expressed pride that the Summit would form part of Ghana's 70th independence celebration in March 2027. The ambition is not simply to discuss AI but to contribute to building Ghana's intelligent future.
A key feature of the 2027 Summit will be a dedicated one-day workshop providing participants with an opportunity for deeper and practical engagement with AI. The workshop will offer a learning and working environment for participants to examine practical AI applications, develop relevant capabilities, and explore ways of integrating AI into organisations and professional practice.
The main conference, scheduled for the second day, will bring together a wider cross-section of Ghana's and Africa's AI ecosystem for keynote addresses, expert discussions, panel sessions, knowledge sharing, and networking. Discussions will cover AI and economic growth, innovation and entrepreneurship, the future of jobs and workforce readiness, responsible and ethical AI, policy, governance, and regulation.
The 2027 programme will also recognise organisations, leaders, and innovators contributing to Ghana's emerging AI ecosystem through the Ghana AI Awards 2027 and the National AI Challenge. It will provide opportunities for innovators and researchers to showcase their work, with selected research contributions considered for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
