Ghana's international education landscape has received a significant boost with the inauguration of Learn Deutsch Limited's new German Language Training and ÖSD Examination Centre in Accra. The ceremony, held on October 9, 2026, at No. 4 Nuumo Abbey Street, Bawuleshie, East Legon, was attended by distinguished diplomatic representatives, government officials, and educational stakeholders. The event was hosted by Founder and Chief Executive Officer Tracey Acquah-Meyer.

The new ÖSD Examination Centre is the first of its kind in Ghana, offering internationally recognised examinations assessing German-language proficiency from A1 to C2 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). ÖSD qualifications follow standardised examination procedures, making them particularly relevant to learners seeking educational and professional opportunities across German-speaking Europe. The centre's modern facilities are designed to support quality German-language training and internationally recognised examinations.

The introduction of ÖSD examinations at Learn Deutsch provides an additional certification pathway for Ghanaian students, professionals, and families, potentially improving examination accessibility and scheduling flexibility. ÖSD certificates are recognised for various educational and immigration purposes in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. For Germany, ÖSD certificates are recognised for applicable visa procedures, including certain family reunification, study, and vocational training applications.

The ÖSD Examination Centre offers Ghanaian learners another internationally recognised examination option supporting educational and professional ambitions across German-speaking Europe. Learn Deutsch has announced that its first scheduled ÖSD examinations at the new facility will take place from November 30 to December 4, 2026. The examinations will be conducted at the new centre, bringing German-language instruction, examination preparation, and international certification services together under one roof.

The presence of diplomatic missions, government agencies, international development organisations, and educational partners highlighted the importance of German-language education in academic exchange, vocational training, and professional mobility. The participation of Dr. Michael Blank, Head of Delegation of AHK Ghana, further underscored the relationship between language education, workforce development, and international business cooperation.

Learn Deutsch is developing its Ghana–Germany Educational and Cultural Exchange Tour, an initiative designed to expose Ghanaian learners to German universities, vocational institutions, industries, and cultural experiences. Through partnerships, including cooperation with ENIJE for Afrika e.V. in Düsseldorf, Germany, the institution aims to connect classroom learning with practical international educational exposure.

With operations in Accra and Kumasi, Learn Deutsch continues to expand access to German-language education, examination preparation, and international educational guidance. The new East Legon facility reflects the institution's investment in modern infrastructure, quality instruction, and internationally aligned certification. The successful launch represents an important step towards strengthening Ghana's participation in international language education and cultural exchange.
