GENPROF Microfinance, a rapidly growing financial institution in Uganda, is seeking highly motivated and competent individuals to join its team as Credit Officers. The successful candidates will be responsible for forming, maintaining, and managing a quality loan portfolio, building an increased quality client base, and maintaining a healthy loan portfolio through proper client follow-up in the assigned areas of operation. GENPROF Microfinance is regulated by the Microfinance Regulation Department, Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development in Uganda.
The Credit Officer will be responsible for promoting GENPROF products and services to prospective customers, training them about the products and services, and supporting them to take up the products and services. The officer will also receive loan applications, recruit new clients, and advise them to take up GENPROF microfinance products and services. Additionally, the officer will be responsible for maintaining a healthy loan portfolio, recovering loan repayment installments from clients, and preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
To qualify for the position, candidates must have a diploma in any discipline, with no experience required, although having experience is an added advantage. The ideal candidate should have excellent leadership skills, computer skills especially in Microsoft Excel and Word, and knowledge of any financial data management software. Excellent communication, analytical, and sales skills are also required, as well as the ability to handle multi-tasks under minimum supervision.
The position requires candidates to be between the age of 20-28 years, with a good command of both spoken and written English. Fluency in Lusoga or Luganda is an added advantage. Candidates must also have a demonstrable track record of high integrity, reliability, credibility, and dependability, as well as networking and influencing skills, and writing and reporting skills.
