Employees of GCB Bank PLC have taken a significant step in enhancing the educational experience of students at Osei Tutu Senior High School in Akropong, Ashanti Region. As part of their 2026 Staff Community Impact Programme (SCIP), the employees have donated books and desktop computers to the school's library. The project, spearheaded by employees from various divisions of GCB Bank, was undertaken to address the pressing need for improved access to educational materials at Osei Tutu SHS. The school's library, with a seating capacity of approximately 260 students, had only about 450 books, many of which were outdated or no longer aligned with current academic requirements. This gap prompted the GCB Bank employees to take action and enhance both the library's physical collection and digital learning capabilities.
The GCB Bank employees have supplied a range of books to expand and modernize the library's collection, alongside two desktop computers to support digital learning and online research. This intervention is expected to benefit approximately 4,000 students and members of the school community, promoting independent learning and fostering a stronger reading culture. The project is part of a broader effort by GCB Bank to positively impact one million Ghanaians through 95 community projects nationwide.
