GCB Bank PLC has launched a month-long customer appreciation programme, extending this year's Customer Service Week into a global theme: 'The Extra Mile.' The programme, which started on October 2, 2026, aims to thank customers for their loyalty, listen to their experiences, and identify areas for improvement in the services provided. This initiative reflects the bank's responsibility to earn and maintain the trust of its customers, having served Ghanaians for over seven decades.
The Managing Director of GCB Bank, Farihan Alhassan, emphasized that the programme is a reflection of the bank's commitment to customer satisfaction. He stated that the bank values the trust customers have placed in them and recognizes the responsibility that comes with it. The bank will make time to hear from customers and understand how to serve them better, as customer centricity is a key pillar of GCB's strategy.
The month-long programme will include various activities at branches, in communities, and online, providing opportunities for customers to interact with the bank and share their experiences. A Customer Town Hall will be held, allowing customers to share their views and engage directly with the bank's leadership. Members of the Executive Committee will also visit selected branches to interact with customers and staff.
Other activities planned for the month include branch appreciation programmes, customer education sessions, Patrons Appreciation Day to recognize longstanding customer relationships, and the GCB Aerobics Fiesta, which will bring customers together through fitness and wellness activities. These events aim to promote customer engagement and provide a platform for customers to share their experiences.
The Chief Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience Officer of GCB Bank, Cynthia Eyram Ofori-Dwumfuo, highlighted the importance of customer feedback in the month's activities. She stated that going the extra mile starts with getting everyday things right, such as clear information, timely responses, and support when customers need it.
Customers have been encouraged to follow GCB's official channels throughout October for information on the various activities and how to participate. The bank's goal is to use customer feedback to strengthen the service it provides. By engaging with customers, the bank aims to improve its services and maintain its position as a leading financial institution in Ghana.
GCB Bank's Customer Service Month is a testament to its commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty. With a history spanning over seven decades, the bank continues to prioritize its customers' needs and experiences.
