The Société d'énergie et d'eau du Gabon (SEEG) launched its activities for October Rose, a national campaign against cancer, in Franceville, the capital of Haut-Ogooué province, on October 2-3, 2026. Under the leadership of Remus Arnold Mbouogho, the company's East Regional Directorate organized medical screenings and consultations for its employees and their families. The initiative aimed to assess the health status of SEEG's personnel and promote prevention.

A medical campaign was conducted at SEEG's headquarters in partnership with 24/7 Assistance-GA, through the Medevac program. The screenings and medical evaluations allowed for an assessment of the employees' health. Audrey Louise Ndong Sala, head of the Careers and Payroll Management Division, emphasized that "the first resource of a company is its human capital. With October Rose, we focused on prevention." Employees with concerning results will receive support for their medical care through the medical partner.

On October 2, 2026, a conference on hypertension and cancer prevention was held at the Haut-Ogooué Governor's Office. Dr. Aline Sillat Tamo Nzoumba, an oncologist, led the conference, highlighting the importance of early detection in the fight against cancer. She stressed that certain cancers commonly associated with women can also affect men and encouraged them to get screened and raise awareness among their spouses.

Dr. Tamo Nzoumba also promoted healthy lifestyle habits, such as a balanced diet, reduced salt consumption, regular physical activity, and sufficient sleep. The following day, the teams organized additional consultations, screenings, and fitness activities at the Agathe Obendze Technical High School gymnasium. A pediatrician was present to extend care to younger individuals.

The events concluded with employees and their families leaving the venue wearing October Rose-colored t-shirts and receiving gifts, marking the launch of SEEG's awareness campaign in Haut-Ogooué. The company's efforts aim to promote health prevention and encourage early detection of cancer among its employees and the wider community.

The SEEG's East Regional Directorate, under Remus Arnold Mbouogho's leadership, demonstrated its commitment to the well-being of its employees and their families. By partnering with medical professionals and organizing awareness campaigns, the company seeks to contribute to the national effort against cancer.

The October Rose campaign is part of a broader national initiative to raise awareness about cancer and promote prevention in Gabon. SEEG's activities in Haut-Ogooué reflect the company's dedication to the health and well-being of its employees and the local community.
