The Gabonese government has officially launched PROXIGAB, a digital platform designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The platform was presented at the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF) headquarters in Libreville. The event was attended by key government officials, including the Minister of Commerce, SMEs, and Youth Entrepreneurship, Zenaba Gninga Chaning, and the Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization, and Innovation, Mark-Alexandre Doumba.
Developed by ANINF experts, PROXIGAB aims to connect entrepreneurs, investors, suppliers, incubators, and partners to foster business opportunities and strengthen the national entrepreneurial ecosystem. The platform seeks to facilitate local subcontracting, improve access to financing opportunities, and bridge the gap between supply and demand in the market. It is accessible free of charge to operators in both the formal and informal sectors, as well as individuals.
The launch ceremony included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Deputy Director-General of SMEs, Rodrigue Maroundou Boulingui, and the Deputy Director-General of ANINF, Maryse Lydie Madiba Iloumbou. This agreement formalizes the provision of the digital solution and strengthens cooperation between the two structures. The platform's technical presentation, supported by ANINF's digital avatar "YENA," allowed participants to explore its features and registration procedures.
According to Minister Mark-Alexandre Doumba, PROXIGAB is expected to contribute to better organization of supply and demand, promote collaborations between businesses and investors, and encourage the gradual formalization of economic activities. The platform is part of ANINF's efforts to develop digital solutions that support public policies, under the leadership of its Director-General, Alberto Wenceslas Mounguengui Moudoki.
PROXIGAB's primary objective is to provide a digital ecosystem that enables SMEs to access new business opportunities, improve their competitiveness, and contribute to Gabon's economic growth. By facilitating connections between stakeholders, the platform aims to create a more dynamic and inclusive entrepreneurial environment. The government expects PROXIGAB to have a positive impact on the country's economic development and job creation.
The launch of PROXIGAB demonstrates the Gabonese government's commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, digitalization, and economic diversification. The platform is expected to play a key role in achieving these goals, and its success will depend on the level of adoption and participation from SMEs and other stakeholders. The government has expressed its support for the platform and its potential to drive economic growth and development in Gabon.
As PROXIGAB begins operations, it will be essential to monitor its progress and impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Gabon. The platform's effectiveness will depend on its ability to address the needs of SMEs and facilitate meaningful connections between stakeholders. With the support of the government and other stakeholders, PROXIGAB has the potential to become a valuable tool for promoting entrepreneurship and economic growth in Gabon.
