The Agence nationale de l'urbanisme, des travaux topographiques et du cadastre (ANUTTC) participated in the recently opened housing open days in Libreville, Gabon. At the event, the agency presented procedures and modalities aimed at accelerating land regularization and facilitating access to property ownership. This move is expected to promote modern urban planning and social cohesion in the country. The open days were officially opened on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Caretta Pascale N'GUIAH, the provincial director of Estuaire, provided detailed explanations of the land regularization process. According to her, individuals who acquired land from a third party without a title deed must submit a form, an identity document, and pay a 50,000 FCFA filing fee. This process enables the ANUTTC to verify the land's attributability and ultimately issue a decision granting full ownership.

The ANUTTC offers plots of land on three sites: Bolokoboué in Akanda, Nkoltang, and Ocolassi in Ntoum. These plots are priced at a uniform rate of 5,000 FCFA per square meter. For instance, a 500 m² plot costs 2,500,000 FCFA, while a 1,000 m² plot costs 5,000,000 FCFA. This pricing strategy aims to make land acquisition more accessible to the public.

In addition to the upfront payment option, the ANUTTC provides a payment plan for land buyers. This plan requires an initial deposit of 300,000 FCFA, with the remaining balance paid over a 24-month period. This financing option is designed to ease the burden of land acquisition and make property ownership more attainable.

The ANUTTC's efforts to streamline land regularization and property access are part of Gabon's broader strategy to modernize its urban planning and promote social cohesion. By providing clear guidelines and affordable payment options, the agency aims to reduce conflicts related to land ownership and encourage sustainable development.

The agency's initiatives have been welcomed by the public, who see this as an opportunity to secure property ownership and invest in their future. The ANUTTC's presence at the housing open days has provided a platform for people to learn about the available options and procedures, fostering greater transparency and trust in the land acquisition process.

Overall, the ANUTTC's actions are expected to have a positive impact on Gabon's urban development and social stability. By making land regularization and property access more accessible, the agency is contributing to the country's economic growth and improved living standards for its citizens.
