Another patient who benefited from the program is Gloria Okwunwa, a 42-year-old woman from Benin City, who underwent a successful operation to remove fibroids. The condition had caused her months of bleeding and emotional distress, but she is now hopeful about her future and the possibility of having more children. The program also provided hernia surgery for 16-month-old Fausat Abdulrauf, whose father, Teslim, had been searching for help for his son.
The Ubomi 2026 program offers a range of medical services, including general consultations, health screenings, laboratory investigations, diagnostic services, eye care, surgeries, dental procedures, pediatric services, obstetrics, and gynecology. The program also provides pharmaceutical support and health education with post-outreach referrals. Since its inception in 2019, Ubomi has delivered nearly 49,000 verified medical interventions, with a remarkable 99% surgical success rate.
The program is a partnership between Pistis Foundation and several organizations, including The Elevation Church, Pro-Health International, and medical institutions like Zenithcare Hospital and Hospital for Trauma and Surgery. Leonard F. Thomas, Executive Director of Pistis Foundation, emphasized that healthcare should never be out of reach due to financial constraints. The foundation's goal is to provide quality healthcare to people who cannot afford it.
