The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency's free medical caravan recently visited the East Suwahera and Sheikh Saad areas, providing essential health services and consultations to approximately 150 Palestinian residents. This initiative was carried out in partnership with the Moroccan group Akdital and Astra Lab laboratories. The medical team offered various services, including internal medicine, pediatrics, laboratory tests, and medications for chronic diseases.

Dr. Bahaa Al-Jabri, manager of Astra Lab laboratories in Bethlehem, stated that the medical team focused on serving the elderly and children, detecting cases of diabetes and other conditions that require medical attention and follow-up. He emphasized the importance of regular check-ups and doctor visits for early disease detection and improved treatment response. Dr. Al-Jabri also highlighted the need for mobile clinics to reach remote areas with limited access to healthcare services.

The medical caravan's visit was welcomed by local residents, who expressed their gratitude for the services provided. Muhammad Musa, a member of the Sheikh Saad Club's administrative board, noted that such initiatives are crucial for residents struggling with chronic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension. He also mentioned the challenges faced by the town's residents in accessing healthcare services due to the separation barrier and geographical distance from Jerusalem.

Beneficiaries of the medical caravan, such as Youssef Mohammed Mashayera, appreciated the opportunity to undergo medical tests and receive treatment. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives in enabling residents with limited financial means to access healthcare services and monitor their health conditions regularly. Mashayera called for the continuation of these medical caravans, expressing gratitude to the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency and the Moroccan people for their support.

Zahia Mohammed Mashayera, another beneficiary, benefited from the medical services and obtained medication for her husband. She emphasized the financial burden of purchasing medication and expressed hope that future medical caravans would include the provision of necessary medication for patients. Mashayera praised the Moroccan support and called for the continuation of such initiatives.

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency's medical caravan is part of a larger initiative launched in October 2026, which includes three main components. The first component focuses on breast cancer awareness and early detection, while the second component addresses men's health and chronic diseases. The third component, scheduled for December, will focus on the health of elderly people and people with disabilities.

The medical caravan's visit demonstrates the ongoing efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency to provide essential healthcare services to remote Palestinian communities. The initiative has been made possible through the support of the Moroccan government and various partners, highlighting the importance of cooperation in addressing healthcare challenges in the region.
