The ITK Foundation has distributed 100,000 free exercise books to students and teachers across public secondary schools in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, and Orolu Local Government Areas of Osun State. This initiative aims to support a smooth start to the new academic session. The distribution was carried out by Desmond Adekanola, Project Coordinator of the ITK Foundation, on behalf of the organization’s chairman, Ibraheem Taofeek Kayode.
The exercise book distribution was commended by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Murtala Jimoh. Adekanola assured the public that this program would become an annual event. The initiative stems from Ibraheem Taofeek Kayode’s philanthropic mission to support young people and ease financial burdens on parents.
According to Adekanola, the ITK Foundation chose to assist parents across 50 secondary schools in the Osogbo Federal Constituency. Every student, teacher, and principal in these public schools will benefit from the exercise book distribution. The foundation’s goal is to support young people through education, which is considered the bedrock of any thriving society.
The target area for this initiative includes Irepodun, Olorunda, Osogbo, and Orolu local governments. Adekanola noted that Ibraheem Taofeek Kayode chose to launch the outreach in his home communities before expanding to other areas. This approach is based on the principle that charity begins at home.
Adekanola emphasized that despite Ibraheem Taofeek Kayode’s political background, the initiative is strictly humanitarian. The outreach is purely a philanthropic gesture driven by his commitment to helping others, not politics. This clarification was made to ensure that the public understands the foundation’s intentions.
The ITK Foundation plans to extend this support to other constituencies, particularly within Osun Central, over time. For now, the focus is on making a positive impact in the local communities where the initiative was launched.
