Formex has introduced the AirField, a new addition to its Field collection that draws inspiration from pilot's watches. The AirField features a titanium case and a new Sellita movement, offering a blend of style, functionality, and mechanical performance. This latest model is designed to provide a sporty and aerodynamic look, while maintaining a comfortable fit on the wrist.
The AirField boasts a 40mm diameter titanium case with a thickness of 10.5mm and a lug-to-lug distance of 48mm. The watch weighs only 54 grams without the strap, making it lightweight and comfortable to wear. The case features a hardened surface treatment, achieving a hardness of approximately 900 Vickers, which enhances its resistance to everyday wear and tear.
The watch features a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, protecting the dial from scratches and glare. The caseback is made of titanium and features an engraved radial engine design, adding to the watch's aviation-inspired aesthetic. The AirField is water-resistant up to 150 meters, making it suitable for various activities, from daily wear to more demanding environments.
The AirField's dial is designed to resemble aircraft instrument panels, with a finely grained surface and an inclined bezel that adds depth to the display. The watch features Arabic numerals and indexes with a Super-LumiNova treatment for improved readability in low-light conditions. The hour and minute hands are designed in a sword shape with a sandblasted finish, while the seconds hand features a distinctive airplane-shaped counterweight.
The AirField is powered by the new Sellita SW200-2 Power+ automatic movement, which offers a 65-hour power reserve, an improvement from the 41-hour reserve of its predecessor. This movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and features 26 jewels. It displays hours, minutes, seconds, and date, making it a reliable and functional choice for sports enthusiasts.
The AirField will be available for pre-order starting September 24, 2026, with deliveries expected to begin in late October 2026. The watch is offered with two strap options: a nylon elastic strap with a Velcro closure and a leather strap with a deployant buckle made of carbon fiber composite. Prices start at 950 euros or 830 CHF for the nylon strap version and 1,075 euros or 970 CHF for the leather strap version.
