A leading former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki, has launched an N4bn empowerment package to support the state's residents. The package, unveiled in Ilorin, comprises N1bn in cash and N3.2bn worth of equipment and items, including 150 vehicles and modern sewing machines. The initiative aims to help beneficiaries improve their livelihoods and achieve economic independence.

According to Seriki, the empowerment programme is also designed to ensure the re-election of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 elections. He stated that the programme was motivated by his desire to give back to society and create opportunities for people to make progress through different means of livelihood. Seriki, a founder and Managing Director of Kursi Investments Limited, Abuja, emphasized the importance of using one's resources to improve the lives of others.

The empowerment package, titled "Yahaya Seriki Empowerment and Enterprise Colloquium," was launched in Ilorin, the state capital. Seriki explained that the purpose of the empowerment programme is to help people progress in their own way, stating that making others happy is something he strongly believes in and enjoys doing. He urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to support President Tinubu's second-term ambition.

Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central senatorial district at the Upper House and now the PDP senatorial candidate for 2027, lauded Seriki's humanitarian gestures. He praised Seriki's commitment to humanity through the empowerment programme, which distributed vehicles, tools, and equipment to artisans and other valuable items worth billions of naira.

Senator Mustapha described Seriki's intervention as heartwarming, reflecting a philosophy of service that he has consistently believed in and practised over the years. He expressed hope that the programme would not be Seriki's last intervention of this magnitude. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including politicians and community leaders.

The N4bn empowerment package is one of the largest interventions in the state, demonstrating Seriki's commitment to improving the lives of Kwara State residents. The programme is expected to have a positive impact on the state's economy and provide opportunities for people to make progress.

Seriki's support for President Tinubu's re-election bid is significant, given the President's policies, which Seriki believes are necessary for Nigeria's development. The President's administration has implemented various initiatives aimed at transforming the country's economy and improving the lives of Nigerians.
