Ford South Africa has introduced the Tourneo Titanium X AWD, an eight-seat people mover with all-wheel drive, enhancing its flagship model's capabilities. Priced at R1 354 100, the new variant joins the existing front-wheel-drive Titanium X in the line-up. The AWD system aims to provide extra traction for various road conditions, targeting families, executive transport operators, and long-distance travellers.
The Tourneo Titanium X AWD was announced in Pretoria on 29 September 2026. Ryan Searle, Director of Sales Operations at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa, highlighted that the AWD system makes the vehicle "even better suited to the wide range of conditions and destinations encountered by South African motorists." The model is equipped with Ford's 2.0-litre EcoBlue four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 125kW and 390Nm.
The Tourneo Titanium X AWD features an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system that distributes drive between the front and rear wheels according to available grip. The vehicle offers six drive modes: Normal, Eco, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Sport, and Trail. Externally, the AWD variant is distinguished by 19-inch alloy wheels and AWD badging, along with Matrix LED headlights.
The cabin of the Tourneo Titanium X AWD seats eight on leather-appointed seats, with powered sliding side doors providing access to the second and third rows. The individual rear seats can be removed for extra luggage space or turned around to create a rear-facing conference-style layout. Infotainment is handled by a 13-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Tourneo Titanium X AWD offers optional packs, including the Lux pack with heated second-row seats, a 14-speaker B&O sound system, and a full-length panoramic moon roof. A Mobile Office package is also available, featuring a stowable tray table, enhanced lighting, laptop or tablet stowage, and additional USB connections. The vehicle is equipped with a range of safety features, including Autonomous Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Standard safety equipment on the Tourneo Titanium X AWD includes Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Information System, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Reverse Brake Assist. The vehicle also features a 360-degree camera and a Driver Monitoring System, which tracks the driver's head and eye movements. The model comes with a six-year/90 000km Ford Optional Service Plan and a four-year/120 000km warranty.
The Ford Tourneo Custom 2.0L SWB Titanium X AWD 8AT is priced at R1 354 100, including VAT. The vehicle is backed by a four-year/unlimited distance Roadside Assistance and a five-year/unlimited distance corrosion warranty. Service intervals are set at 15 000km or annually, with options to upgrade the service or maintenance plans and extend the warranty.
