The under-prefecture of Moussayah in Forécariah hosted a ceremony on October 29, 2026, to mark the beginning of construction for the NAFA center. The event drew various stakeholders, including local authorities, representatives from ANAFIC, district officials, women's groups, and numerous citizens from surrounding areas. This project aims to enhance the autonomy of women and young people by providing vocational training, enabling them to engage in income-generating activities and meet their needs.

The NAFA center project was made possible through funding from the National Agency for Financing Local Collectivities (ANAFIC) via the National Local Development Fund (FNDL). According to Odile Hawa Ouamouno, a technical agent for community supervision, the project involves constructing and equipping the center and four latrine blocks. The initiative stems from a long process that began with the local population's demands, as outlined in the PDL, and was prioritized during participatory budgeting.

Odile Hawa Ouamouno encouraged women and young girls to seize this opportunity, describing the NAFA center as a second chance or a second school. The center will enable them to learn a trade and become self-sufficient. Pema Sakovogui, the project engineer, provided details on the center's design, which will include three large rooms, two offices, a terrace, and four latrine blocks. He assured authorities that the project will be completed within the contractual three-month timeline.

Ibrahima Sory Camara, the mayor of Moussayah rural commune, expressed satisfaction on behalf of the authorities and population, noting that the NAFA center aligns with the commune's interests. The center will offer women and young girls who couldn't pursue their studies a chance to learn valuable skills. The mayor's sentiments were echoed by the women of Moussayah, who welcomed the project and pledged to support its completion.

The construction of the NAFA center marks a significant milestone for Moussayah rural commune. Beyond being a physical infrastructure, it represents a new opportunity for training, integration, and economic autonomy for women and young people. The project's realization has generated anticipation among the beneficiary populations, who expect it to have a positive impact on their lives.

The event was well-attended by local authorities, including the ten sub-prefects of Forécariah prefecture. The presence of these officials underscores the government's commitment to implementing projects that promote local development and improve living conditions. The NAFA center is expected to become a hub for vocational training and empowerment.

Key stakeholders have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the project's success. With the first stone laid, the focus now shifts to the construction phase, which is expected to be completed within three months. The NAFA center's impact will be closely monitored, and its success could serve as a model for similar initiatives in other regions.
