The Fondation Orange Mali has initiated the second edition of its Kalan Kits program, aimed at supporting vulnerable children in their education and improving their learning conditions. This program is particularly crucial during the back-to-school season, which often presents financial challenges for many families. The launch event took place on October 1, 2026, at the Ecole Annexe IPEG Oumar Doumbia in Bamako.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, Fondation Orange Mali is distributing over 5,500 school kits to students in vulnerable situations in Bamako and several regions of Mali. These kits contain essential school supplies such as notebooks, pens, books, and bags, which are vital for students to start the academic year under good conditions. The foundation's initiative seeks to alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with the start of the school year.

During the launch event, 100 school kits and 25 tables-bancs were handed over to the Ecole Annexe IPEG Oumar Doumbia. This gesture is part of the foundation's broader effort to not only provide educational materials but also improve the learning environment. The distribution of tables-bancs aims to create a more conducive learning atmosphere for students.

According to the General Administrator of Fondation Orange Mali, the second edition of Kalan Kits goes beyond merely distributing school supplies. The initiative also includes the provision of 300 tables-bancs, which will be distributed across various schools. This aspect of the program underscores the foundation's commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure.

The Kalan Kits program is designed to support students who face significant challenges in accessing quality education due to their socio-economic status. By providing essential school supplies and improving classroom infrastructure, Fondation Orange Mali aims to level the playing field for these students. This initiative is part of the foundation's broader mission to contribute to the development of Mali's education sector.

The launch of the second edition of Kalan Kits has been welcomed by the educational community and stakeholders. It reflects Fondation Orange Mali's ongoing engagement with the local community and its commitment to making a positive impact. The program's expansion to various regions of Mali is expected to benefit a significant number of students.
