Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has charged women across the country to mobilize voters at the grassroots for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in January 2027. Speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Women Campaign Council in Abuja, she emphasized the need for a unified effort to ensure an all-round APC victory from the presidency down to the state assembly.

The various women support groups that had previously operated separately under different banners have been collapsed into one campaign structure dedicated to promoting APC victory at all levels. According to the First Lady, "What you will see on the ballot box is APC. We're here to promote APC, nothing less." This move aims to present a united front for the party in the upcoming elections.

The newly inaugurated council will coordinate campaigns for APC candidates across various levels, including the presidency, governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections. The council's campaign strategy will feature six zonal mega rallies, state rallies, and a grand finale in Abuja. The First Lady and the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, are expected to participate in the zonal campaigns alongside other party leaders.

The wife of the Senate President, the wife of the Speaker, and the Chairperson of the Governors' Spouses Forum will represent the First Lady at the state rallies. The council's efforts aim to galvanize support for President Tinubu's re-election bid. The First Lady urged Nigerian women to support President Tinubu for a second term, citing the administration's "Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity" as a testament to the government's commitment to progress.

The First Lady highlighted the achievements of the administration, stating that the economy is stabilizing, inflation is decreasing, and foreign reserves are growing. She also mentioned the increasing support for farmers and the introduction of student loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme. These reforms, she emphasized, are moving Nigeria from crisis to prosperity.

The First Lady encouraged women to return to their respective states and communicate the administration's achievements to voters. She described President Tinubu as a leader willing to take difficult decisions in the overall national interest. The First Lady also called on women to demonstrate their support for the APC at the ballot box, emphasizing the need for a unified voice in support of the party.

The First Lady expressed gratitude to the women for standing by President Tinubu and believing in the Renewed Hope Agenda. She emphasized the importance of their determination to vote for the President's re-election and their prayers for the country's progress. With this unified effort, the APC aims to build on the solid foundation laid and ensure continued progress for Nigeria.
