First Lady of Nigeria Oluremi Tinubu has called on voters in the North-Central region to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, promising that the administration's economic reforms would translate into greater prosperity. She made the appeal on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, at the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network's grand rally for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. The rally was attended by prominent figures, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.

According to Mrs. Tinubu, the administration's reforms were beginning to stabilise the economy, with the foreign exchange market showing improvement and investors returning to the country. She cited signs of stabilisation in the foreign exchange market, renewed investor interest, and infrastructure development across states. The First Lady anchored her appeal on the President's 1 October Independence Day address, titled "From Reforms to Prosperity," saying Nigerians should expect the benefits of the administration's policies to become more evident.

Mrs. Tinubu highlighted the administration's interventions in nutrition and social welfare, saying the government was addressing food insecurity, particularly among vulnerable women and children. She mentioned the recently concluded food bank programme, designed to support children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers with nutritious food, while malnourished children would receive treatment and nutritional support.

The First Lady also pointed to government support for young people in school, urging party supporters to communicate the administration's policies and achievements to voters in their respective states. She described President Tinubu as a leader willing to take difficult decisions and called on Nigerians to trust him to lead the country towards economic prosperity.

Mrs. Tinubu urged the North-Central electorate to vote for continuity, arguing that a second term for the Tinubu administration would deliver a stronger economy, safer communities, and a more prosperous Nigeria. She said, "Vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of APC from top to bottom."

Other speakers at the rally also called for support for Tinubu, Shettima, and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that another term for the ruling party would sustain the administration's agenda. The rally forms part of efforts by pro-APC groups to mobilise grassroots support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The event had in attendance governors from the North-Central region and other party leaders, showcasing a show of unity and solidarity for the President's re-election bid. With the 2027 elections approaching, the Tinubu administration is intensifying efforts to sell its policies and achievements to Nigerians, with the First Lady's rally in Lafia being a significant event in this regard.
