Quomodo Systems Africa and Check Point Software Technologies have formed a partnership to strengthen cybersecurity protection for Nigerian businesses, particularly in the oil and gas sector. This collaboration combines Check Point's threat intelligence and automated prevention technologies with Quomodo's regional infrastructure and market expertise. The partnership was announced at a customer engagement event in Lagos, where executives and technology experts discussed the growing cyber threat landscape and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to enterprise security.

The customer engagement event, themed "Secure Today, Resilient Tomorrow," focused on emerging cybersecurity threats and solutions to help organizations detect, prevent, and respond to attacks. The event provided businesses with direct access to the developers of Check Point's security solutions, enabling them to better understand how the technologies could address their specific needs. According to Olufunke Tonye-Preghafi, Chief Financial Officer of Quomodo Systems Africa, the oil and gas sector was prioritized due to its strategic importance to the Nigerian economy.

Tonye-Preghafi warned that cyberattacks against the oil and gas sector are increasing, and smaller companies could increasingly become entry points for attacks against larger organizations. She emphasized the importance of securing the perimeter of businesses as cyber threats become more sophisticated. Tonye-Preghafi also highlighted that AI could enable attackers to generate large numbers of prompts and attack vectors, making it necessary for businesses to strengthen their security capabilities.

The partnership between Quomodo Systems Africa and Check Point Software Technologies aims to provide businesses with AI-powered security solutions designed to protect enterprise environments against evolving cyber threats. Check Point's Country Manager, Kingsley Oseghale, described the engagement as strategic to deepening the company's partnership with Quomodo. He noted that nine of the 10 largest banks across Nigeria and Ghana were Check Point customers, and the company also supports organizations in Nigeria's energy sector.

Oseghale mentioned that Check Point provides security solutions to companies including Total Nigeria, Oando, and Sahara Energy. The engagement aimed to help customers identify vulnerabilities and understand how Check Point's solutions could strengthen their security environments. Dr. Happiness Udo, Channel Manager for West Africa at Check Point, described Quomodo as one of the company's strategic partners in the region.

According to Dr. Udo, Quomodo has helped expand Check Point's presence in the Nigerian market by connecting its products and solutions with local businesses. Dr. Udo also highlighted the company's AI-powered security solutions designed to protect enterprise environments against evolving cyber threats. The partnership between Quomodo Systems Africa and Check Point Software Technologies is expected to enhance the security posture of Nigerian businesses, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

The collaboration will enable businesses to better detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats, and provide them with AI-powered security solutions to protect their enterprise environments. Quomodo assesses the technology environment of each customer before recommending appropriate cybersecurity solutions. The partnership is a significant step towards strengthening cybersecurity protection for Nigerian businesses and promoting a secure and resilient digital environment.
