On the eve of the 2026 Paris Motor Show, FIAT unveiled the Multiplay concept, a vehicle that combines the space of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the character of a sports utility vehicle (SUV), and the functionality of a pick-up truck. The concept was presented at the Stellantis "Night Before" event by Olivier François, Company Strategic Advisor for Stellantis, and Arnaud Belloni, CEO of the FIAT, Abarth and Lancia brands and Chief Marketing Officer for Europe.

The Multiplay concept is built on the C-Pillar 'Metamorfosi' architecture, which allows for a rear module to slide along dedicated guides, transforming the vehicle from a 6+1 family configuration into a four-seat pick-up with an open bed. This bed can be used to carry bicycles, sports equipment, and bulky items. The rear spoiler also rotates to become an integrated bike rack that can carry up to two bicycles.

In family mode, the Multiplay concept features six seats, including the 'Petsenger seat', a modular unit that can serve as a mounting point for a child car seat, a space for a pet, a small table, or a storage compartment. The rear compartment can accommodate up to two children and even an adult when needed. The front passenger seat can also convert into the 'Sunseat', a lounger for use when parked beneath the panoramic roof.

The interior design of the Multiplay concept features bright green bodywork and red and pink tones inside, along with a soft pink floor and turquoise shades. The vehicle also boasts large glass areas and generous side windows, allowing for an abundance of natural light. The interior materials use monomaterial textile made with a no-stitch 3D knit process, reducing waste.

The Multiplay concept draws inspiration from FIAT's heritage, specifically the 1956 Fiat 600 Multipla, which seated six in around 3.5 meters, and the 1998 Multipla, which offered six seats in under four meters. FIAT describes the Multiplay concept as a laboratory of ideas for future innovations, rather than a preview of a specific production model.

The concept's design also features a display integrated into the dashboard that disappears when the vehicle is switched off. Additionally, the vehicle includes waterproof finishes in the kids and pets' areas. The presentation of the Multiplay concept was attended by François and Belloni, who symbolically handed over the keys, highlighting the vehicle's potential for future developments.

Key features of the Multiplay concept include its ability to transform from an MPV to a pick-up truck, its innovative seating configurations, and its use of sustainable materials in its design. As FIAT continues to explore new ideas for family vehicles, the Multiplay concept showcases the company's vision for adaptable and practical transportation solutions.
