The FDC Summit, a regional technology industry event, began on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, in Cairo, Egypt. The three-day event is being held under the patronage of Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy and Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem. The summit will feature high-level roundtables and panel discussions addressing developments in the technology sector, investment opportunities, and emerging challenges linked to AI and cybersecurity.
The opening day of the summit will focus on AI, data centre infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data management. One of the main sessions will examine “The Future of Investment in Egypt’s Data Centre Industry,” focusing on Egypt’s prospects for attracting investment into data hosting and data centre infrastructure. The discussions will cover Egypt’s geographic location, telecommunications infrastructure, skilled workforce, and links to Arab and African markets.
A second roundtable, titled “Egypt’s Role in Advancing Digital Transformation and the Future of Critical Infrastructure in Africa,” will discuss Egyptian-African cooperation in digital transformation, critical infrastructure, capacity building, and the use of technology to strengthen the resilience of vital sectors. The programme will also include sessions on cyber-risk management, data and digital asset protection, critical infrastructure security, business continuity, and institutional preparedness against emerging cyber threats.
The summit will be attended by representatives of major global, regional, and local technology companies, including Orange, We Innovate, GPX Global, Palo Alto Networks, F5, Trellix, Thales, Google, Kaspersky, Raya IT, OpenText, Gigamon, Trend AI, ExtraHop, Infoblox, BeyondTrust, Ivanti, HPE, Juniper, Seclore, Tenable, ACT, AIS-dPhish, and Cohesity. The 2026 edition places AI alongside data centres, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure at the centre of discussions on developing Egypt’s digital economy.

The second edition of Egypt’s National AI Strategy (2025–2030) is structured around six key pillars and 21 strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening AI governance, promoting innovation, developing data infrastructure, expanding the AI ecosystem and technological capabilities, and building a skilled AI workforce.
