The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has emphasized the need for synergy among all security agencies in Nigeria to effectively address the country's insecurity challenges. FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, made this call while hosting Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, at the command's headquarters in Abuja. Sanusi stressed that a mutual working relationship among security agencies is critical to community policing and the effectiveness of local security initiatives.

Sanusi lauded the Iru Ekun Security Network, a security outfit established by Igboho, and encouraged them to sustain a healthy collaboration with all security agencies in the discharge of their duties. He also emphasized the importance of notifying relevant security agencies, particularly divisional police authorities, on crime prevention and detection before any actionable activity. This, he believes, will enhance the outfit's effectiveness in tackling criminality in Nigeria.

The meeting between Sanusi and Igboho was part of collaborative efforts to combat crimes, promote peace, and tranquillity in the country. Igboho commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu, for his support for the Iru Ekun Security Network. The outfit has recorded success in reducing cases of abduction, banditry, and farmer-herder clashes, particularly in the South-West region of Nigeria.

Igboho expressed gratitude for the support received from various security agencies, including the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi. He assured that the outfit will continue to leverage this collaboration to drive peace and protect communities against hoodlums and other criminals.

The FCT coordinator of Iru Ekun, Segun Olufadeju, during the meeting with Sanusi, promised to always inform and engage the Police in the FCT regarding their activities. This commitment aims to foster a seamless working relationship between the Iru Ekun Security Network and the FCT Police Command.

The call for synergy among security agencies comes amid efforts to address the rising insecurity challenges in Nigeria. The country has been grappling with various security issues, including banditry, kidnapping, and farmer-herder clashes. The FCT Police Command's advocacy for collaboration is expected to enhance the effectiveness of security initiatives and promote peace in the country.

The meeting between the FCT Police Command and the Iru Ekun Security Network highlights the importance of partnership in addressing insecurity. By working together, security agencies can share intelligence, coordinate efforts, and develop strategies to tackle the root causes of insecurity in Nigeria. This collaborative approach is expected to yield positive results in the fight against crime and insecurity.
