On October 10, the Gami family organized a ceremony to hand over the Gami Isseini Gagoum school in Goundi 1, Chad. The event was attended by administrative, religious, and customary authorities, parents, and a large crowd. The school was built under the theme "Educate today to build tomorrow." The project was initiated by a woman who understood the importance of education for a community's future.

The mayor of Goundi, Doubragne Ngabaye, expressed gratitude to the Gami Isseini Gagoum family for their generosity. He credited the family for completing a project started by a woman who had passed away. According to Ngabaye, her vision was to provide a better future for the children of Goundi. The school's construction is seen as a significant achievement for the community.

Achetou Gami, representing the Gami Isseini Gagoum family, explained that the idea to build the school came from Gami Halimé, the eldest daughter of Gami Isseini Gagoum. During a visit to Goundi in 2021, Halimé noticed that the existing school was made of straw and decided to build a new one using durable materials. Although she passed away before starting the project, her siblings fulfilled her wish.

The new school features six classrooms, 144 desks, a borehole, and a flagpole. The facilities will provide a better learning environment for the children of Goundi 1. The school's construction is expected to improve education standards in the region. Local authorities have welcomed the development, citing its potential to boost education in rural areas.

Ngarmbassa Ngabaye, the head of education in Goundi, expressed optimism about the school's impact. He hoped that the new facilities would eliminate issues such as overcrowding, makeshift classrooms, and late resumption of classes. The community is expected to take ownership of the school and ensure its maintenance.

Mahamat Ismaël Adoum, the prefect of Goundi, praised the Gami family for their investment in education. He noted that the school was not just a physical structure but a tool for building a brighter future for the children of Goundi. Adoum called on the community to protect and maintain the school, ensuring it serves its intended purpose.

The construction of the Gami Isseini Gagoum school highlights the importance of community involvement in education. The project demonstrates that families and communities can make a significant difference in improving learning conditions in rural areas. The school is expected to become a hub for education and development in Goundi, Chad.
