The Executive Women Network (EWN) has marked its 10th anniversary, reflecting on a decade of significant growth and impact. Founded with just six members, EWN has expanded to comprise 200 members from both the private and public sectors. The network has established a presence across 28 industries in Ghana, with members making notable contributions in their respective fields. This milestone was celebrated at a recent conference attended by various stakeholders.

According to EWN Chairperson Janet Sunkwa-Mills, the network's impact extends beyond its membership. Over the past decade, EWN has directly influenced more than 10,000 lives through capacity building, corporate mentoring and coaching, donations, corporate social responsibility activities, and youth empowerment projects. These initiatives have not only benefited EWN members but also non-members, demonstrating the network's commitment to broader societal impact.

The influence of EWN members is substantial, given their decision-making positions in multinational companies and public institutions. While the full economic impact of their work is difficult to quantify, it is acknowledged to be considerable. EWN's sustainability relies on membership dues and modest contributions from mentoring and coaching programs, but the organization is seeking additional support and sponsors to further its objectives.

Antoinette Kwofie, Finance Officer of MTN Ghana, congratulated EWN on its anniversary, highlighting the significance of a decade of impact. She noted that EWN's journey exemplifies what can be achieved when women create pathways for others to grow and lead. MTN Ghana has been a supporter of EWN, with its own employee network, the Yellow Ladies Network, benefiting from EWN's mentorship and guidance.

MTN Ghana is committed to achieving gender balance by 2030, recognizing that diverse leadership drives innovation and sustainable growth. The company has implemented various initiatives, including mentorship, leadership development, and wellness programs, to support the growth and confidence of women in the organization. This commitment aligns with EWN's goals of empowering women to lead and succeed.

The significance of EWN's work is underscored by its alignment with broader national goals. As Ghana continues to develop, the role of women in shaping the country's future is increasingly important. EWN's initiatives and MTN Ghana's commitment to gender balance reflect a shared vision for a more inclusive and equitable society.

Looking ahead, EWN is set to launch EWN 2.0, a new phase of its operations aimed at achieving even greater impact. To realize this vision, the organization is appealing for additional support and sponsors to help take its work forward. With the continued support of partners like MTN Ghana, EWN is poised to build on its successes and drive further positive change in Ghana.
