Etincelles FC, a football club from Rwanda's Rubavu district, has parted ways with its head coach, Bizimana Abdou Bekeni, following a disappointing start to the 2026/2027 Rwandan championship. The club announced the termination of Bekeni's contract on Friday, October 6, 2026, after a series of poor performances. Etincelles FC has struggled to secure wins, with only two victories, four losses, and one draw in seven matches, leaving them with seven points and a goal difference of minus seven.
Bekeni, who was reappointed as head coach after serving as Technical Director, had previously led Etincelles FC during difficult times, helping the team avoid relegation to the second division. Despite his success in that period, the current season has not been favorable to him. The club's management had expressed confidence in his abilities, but the team's poor performance led to his eventual departure. Bekeni's contract termination comes as no surprise, given the team's underwhelming results.
One of the potential candidates to replace Bekeni is Bizumuremyi Radjab, commonly known as Mbegeti, who has coached Etincelles FC in the past. Mbegeti has a good understanding of the team and its dynamics, which could work in his favor if he is considered for the position. However, the club's management has not made any official announcements regarding his appointment. Mbegeti's experience with Etincelles FC could be an asset if he is chosen to take over.
Etincelles FC's struggles this season have raised concerns among fans and the club's management. The team's poor performance has led to a significant drop in the standings, with Etincelles FC currently ranked 16th. The club's goal tally has been dismal, with only two goals scored compared to nine conceded. These statistics highlight the need for a turnaround in fortunes, and the appointment of a new coach may be the catalyst for change.
Bekeni's departure marks the end of his second stint as head coach of Etincelles FC. His first tenure was marked by challenges, but he eventually led the team to safety. The club's management had hoped for a better start to the current season, but the team's performances have been inconsistent. With the appointment of a new coach, Etincelles FC will look to regain momentum and climb the standings.
The Rwandan football championship has been competitive, and Etincelles FC's struggles have made it difficult for them to stay ahead of the relegation zone. The club's management will be keen to address the team's weaknesses and identify areas for improvement. The appointment of a new coach will be crucial in turning the team's fortunes around and securing a better finish to the season.
As Etincelles FC looks to the future, the club's fans will be eager to see an improvement in performances. The team's management will be working to identify the right candidate to take over as head coach and lead the team to success. With the right guidance and strategy, Etincelles FC can overcome its current challenges and achieve a more positive outcome in the Rwandan championship.
