The Eswatini Youth Employment Opportunities Project (EYEOP) has opened applications for young emaSwati aged 18-35. The project, supported by the World Bank, aims to expand economic opportunities in agriculture and construction. It focuses on improving employability, promoting entrepreneurship, and building resilient livelihoods. Applications are open to young men and women from Hhohho, Manzini, Shiselweni, and Lubombo regions.

EYEOP provides practical skills training, internationally recognized pathways through DIVT-accredited skills certification, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training. Beneficiaries will also receive enterprise development and start-up support. Participants will have access to mentorship, aftercare support, and linkages to finance, markets, employment, and business opportunities. The program creates pathways into economic participation by equipping young people with practical skills.

The project offers three pathways: on-farm enterprises in agriculture, off-farm agribusinesses, and opportunities in construction and trades. In agriculture, the project supports production of climate-resilient, high-value crops and livestock. In construction, opportunities include bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installation. These pathways provide young people with technical capabilities and opportunities to participate in productive economic activities.

To qualify, applicants must be emaSwati aged 18-35, reside in one of the four regions, and meet the project's eligibility criteria. Young women and youth with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Interested applicants must complete an application form, attach required documents, and submit online or visit their nearest Inkhundla Centre.

Applications officially opened on October 13, 2026, and will close on November 13, 2026. The project emphasizes that submitting an application does not guarantee selection, as all applications will be assessed against the approved eligibility criteria. Support is available for applicants requiring assistance with the application process.

Eligible young people are encouraged to take advantage of the initiative and apply within the stipulated period. For enquiries, applicants can contact the project through 7695 6110 or 7995 6110. The project's goal is to create pathways into economic participation and equip young people with practical skills that respond to opportunities within the agricultural and construction sectors.

The Eswatini government initiative aims to benefit young people not in employment, education, or training (NEET) or those in low-income or vulnerable employment. With applications closing soon, eligible young people are urged to apply and take advantage of the opportunities provided by the EYEOP project.
