Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan criticized the international system on Friday, stating that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is not being implemented. He also reported an escalation of Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank. Erdoğan made these remarks at the opening of the 10th TRT World Forum in Istanbul, calling for a more just international system to tackle global crises and conflicts.

Erdoğan expressed concerns over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where residents face harsh conditions due to shortages of fuel and equipment for hospitals. He also noted the continued obstruction of humanitarian aid, resulting in over 1,500 Palestinian deaths and nearly 5,500 injuries in the past year due to Israeli attacks. Furthermore, more than 270 journalists were killed during the war on Gaza.

The Turkish President warned of escalating Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank, which aim to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land. He reported over 3,000 attacks and violations against Palestinians in October alone. Erdoğan also mentioned that an international delegation was prevented from entering the West Bank, and a Washington Post photographer was assaulted while covering the olive harvest.

Erdoğan emphasized that international institutions responsible for maintaining peace, security, and stability have failed to address the situation in Gaza. He affirmed that Türkiye will continue its efforts to reach peaceful solutions to crises and wars in regions such as Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, and Ukraine. Erdoğan also stated that Türkiye will not retreat from its positions despite disinformation campaigns.

The 10th TRT World Forum, held on November 6 and 7, 2026, in Istanbul, brought together around 150 speakers from 43 countries. They discussed regional crises, global challenges, energy, economy, artificial intelligence, and transportation. Erdoğan’s remarks came amid continued Israeli occupation violations across Gaza and the West Bank.

According to the OIC Media Observatory, 1,453 Israeli violations against Palestinians were documented from October 27 to November 2, 2026. These included 146 settler attacks, with 94 targeting the olive harvest across 70 villages. Erdoğan’s comments highlight the ongoing challenges in the region and the need for a more effective international response.

Erdoğan concluded by emphasizing Türkiye's commitment to defending the truth and promoting peaceful solutions to global crises. He also stressed the need for a more just international system capable of addressing current problems. The Turkish President's statements reflect growing concerns over the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
