The theme of the report, 'A Sustainable World is a Transformed Africa,' underscores the Group's vision for a sustainable future.

The Equity Group's sustainability report reveals that the financial services group deployed more than KSh26 billion in sustainable and climate-aligned financing. This financing supported over 47,000 climate-related transactions and the distribution of 75,855 clean-energy products. Additionally, the Group planted 9.1 million trees in 2025, bringing its cumulative tree-planting total to 44.6 million against a target of 35 million. These efforts demonstrate the Group's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.

These initiatives are part of the Group's efforts to support economic development and create opportunities for wealth creation across Africa.

Under its social protection programmes, Equity reached 5.94 million people, disbursing KSh173.5 billion through cash transfers to support vulnerable households and communities. The report also indicates that 115 refugees received loans worth KSh57.9 million, while another 772 benefited from training programmes aimed at improving their livelihoods. These efforts demonstrate the Group's commitment to social responsibility and its efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable communities.

Equity Afya, the Group's healthcare arm, expanded its network to 150 medical centres across Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The centres recorded more than 4.62 million cumulative patient visits. German Ambassador to Kenya Sebastian Groth emphasized the importance of partnerships between governments, the private sector and development institutions in achieving sustainable development. He noted that private-sector investment was critical in mobilising capital for renewable energy, local value addition and climate financing. The Ambassador's comments highlight the need for collaboration and investment in sustainable development initiatives.

Equity Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer James Mwangi said the investments demonstrate that commercial success and sustainable development can reinforce each other. He added that the Group was focused on transforming lives, giving dignity and expanding opportunities for wealth creation across Africa through investments, partnerships and innovation.
