The Ministers of Agriculture, Ganadería and Bosques, and Medio Ambiente y Economía Azul, Benjamín Mitogo Bielo and Fidel Esono Mba respectively, have appeared before the parliamentary commission to discuss the execution of their programs and priorities for 2027. Minister Mitogo Bielo presented a report on the execution of programs and projects for 2025-2026. The initial budget for these actions was 3.555 billion CFA francs, but the execution recorded was 3.6716 billion CFA francs. The agricultural sector received 2.290 billion CFA francs, with an execution of 2.4047 billion, while the forestry sector had a budget of 1.265 billion CFA francs and an execution of 1.2668 billion.
During his presentation, Mitogo Bielo detailed the progress of various agricultural projects, including absorption, transformation, and commercialization of agricultural products; compensation for cocoa price differences; family agriculture; vegetable production; seed and plant material promotion; and the installation of cocoa and coffee nurseries. He also reported on the update of the rural cadastre and rehabilitation of rural tracks on Bioko Island.
The Minister of Agriculture also informed on the installation of a bromatological laboratory, construction and equipment of mini-slaughterhouses in Malabo and Bata, national inventory of agrarian groups, support to agro-livestock groups and cooperatives, and the reactivation of the agrarian extension system. Additionally, he discussed the project to combat and eradicate plant pathologies and programs to reinforce the productive capacity of the sector.
In the forestry sector, Minister Mitogo Bielo presented information on projects such as the national feasibility study for reforestation, community forestry development, and the reinforcement of the National Institute for Forest Development and Protected Areas Management. He also addressed the implementation of wood control posts and the project to indemnify rural populations affected by elephant invasions in crop farms.
The Minister of Environment and Blue Economy, Fidel Esono Mba, also presented a report on the execution of his ministry's programs.
