Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has commended Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd.'s entrepreneurial drive and its Managing Director, Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, describing him as a role model for young people seeking to make an impact through enterprise. The governor also praised the company's investment in the state's housing sector, noting that private-sector initiatives were critical to complementing government efforts to accelerate development and expand access to decent housing.

The commendation was made during the commissioning of Hosana Estate in Ibagwa Nike, where Deputy Governor Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai represented Governor Mbah. Ossai said the Enugu-born entrepreneur's investment demonstrated the resilience, determination, and enterprise needed to drive the state's development. He commended Powell Homes and other investors for committing resources to Enugu, describing their investments as a boost to the government's efforts to reposition the state.

Ossai assured investors and residents of the administration's commitment to providing a secure environment for businesses and communities to thrive. He urged the developers to work closely with estate management to ensure effective administration of the facility. The deputy governor also reaffirmed the government's commitment to infrastructure expansion, assuring communities that still haven't benefited from ongoing projects that efforts were underway to address their needs.

The Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Beloved-Dan Anike, commended Powell Homes for choosing Ibagwa Nike for the development, noting that the ongoing dualisation of the road had improved the area's prospects as an emerging urban centre. Anike described the investment as a pioneering move into what he called a "future goldmine" and pledged the council's support for the Mbah administration's development agenda.

The traditional ruler of Ibagwa Nike, Igwe Emma Ugwu, welcomed the project, saying the community supported genuine investments that promote economic growth and improve residents' livelihoods. Ugwu recalled that when community members approached him for clarification about the project, he assured them that it aligned with the development aspirations of both the state government and the community.

Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd., described Hosana Estate as more than a completed housing development, saying it embodied vision, perseverance, partnership, and purpose. He attributed the project's successful completion to God and the collective efforts of everyone involved in its development. Emmanuel said the company viewed housing as more than building, stressing that a home provides families with security, dignity, and stability.

Hosana Estate was designed as a planned, functional community tailored to modern families' needs, not merely a collection of residential buildings. The facilities include internal roads, drainage systems, electricity infrastructure, recreational amenities, a synthetic football pitch, and a children's playground. Emmanuel said the company plans to extend its housing developments beyond Enugu, with the broader goal of building more homes and communities and expanding access to decent housing in other parts of the country where the need is greatest.
