Enugu Rangers International's Chief Executive Officer, Amobi Ezeaku, has arrived in Miami, Florida, to participate in the FIFA International Player Transfer Course. The course, which runs from November 3 to 6, 2026, brings together football administrators, legal practitioners, and stakeholders involved in the global transfer system. Ezeaku's attendance represents another step in his professional journey, combining football management with specialized legal and administrative education.
The FIFA International Player Transfer Course is a four-day educational program organized by FIFA's Legal and Compliance Division. The 2026 edition is its fourth, following previous programs in Zurich and Miami. The course focuses on the practical demands of the international transfer market, where over 20,000 professional players move between approximately 5,000 clubs in different countries every year. Participants study FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, player registration, and employment contracts.
Ezeaku's participation in the Miami program is consistent with his professional profile, built around football law, governance, and management. He is a trained lawyer and holds the FIFA Master – International MA in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, completed in 2022-23. He also holds the UEFA Certificate in Football Management and a Master of Laws in International Sports Arbitration. Ezeaku's qualifications complement his experience in football administration, where legal knowledge and understanding of the commercial and regulatory sides of the game are increasingly important.
Before becoming Rangers' General Manager and CEO, Ezeaku had already experienced the club's success from a different administrative position. He first joined the Flying Antelopes as Team Manager in 2016, becoming part of the administrative structure that helped guide the club to the Nigeria Professional Football League title that year. The triumph ended Rangers' 32-year wait for a league championship and restored the Enugu side to the summit of Nigerian football.
Ezeaku returned to Enugu in August 2023 following his appointment as General Manager and Chief Executive Officer by the Enugu State Government. His second spell has brought another period of domestic success. Rangers won the 2023/24 NPFL title under his executive leadership, before securing their ninth league championship in the 2025/26 season. The latest triumph placed the Flying Antelopes level with Enyimba as the joint-most successful clubs in the history of the Nigerian top flight, with nine titles apiece.
While Ezeaku is undertaking the FIFA program in the United States, Rangers remain engaged in the defense of their NPFL crown. The champions' most recent league outing produced a 1-1 draw against Rivers United in Port Harcourt on Sunday, November 1. The result kept Rangers second in the league standings with 18 points from nine matches, level with Rivers United, who have played 11 games.
Rangers are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, November 4, when they host Bendel Insurance at the Awka Township Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 pm Nigerian time. Ezeaku's participation in the FIFA International Player Transfer Course will enhance his knowledge of international football regulations, which will be beneficial for Rangers in their future endeavors.
