The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has reacted to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)'s response to the state's position on recent incidents involving the party. APC's state Publicity Secretary, Chief Uche Obute, stated that persons and institutions claiming integrity should admit mistakes and apologize to the people. This comes after the Enugu State Government expressed concerns over the NDC's activities.

The NDC had faulted the Enugu State Government's position on the incidents, claiming they only planned an airport reception for their governorship candidate, Chinyeaka Ohaa, not a grand statewide campaign flag-off. The party also claimed to have notified law enforcement agencies and made payments to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). However, the APC insists that NDC's claims are false.

Obute pointed out that the NDC's governorship candidate, Chinyeaka Ohaa, had promoted the event as a "Grand Statewide Campaign Flag-off" on his Facebook page. The APC also questioned the NDC's decision to observe a minute's silence for the living, amid unverified medical status of injured persons in the party fracas. This, Obute argued, was a pattern to orchestrate violence and attribute it to the APC for political gains.

The APC's reaction comes after the NDC's press conference addressed by its State Party Chairman, Emmanuel Chukwujekwu Nebo. The NDC had also claimed that it was still verifying the final medical status of all injured persons in the party fracas. Obute described the NDC's actions as attempts to extract cheap political capital.

The Enugu APC commended the Governor Peter Mbah Administration for upholding the freedom and democratic rights of the people, irrespective of political affiliation. The party advised opposition parties to present their manifestoes and campaign on them, rather than stoking political tension.

Obute emphasized that the NDC must tender unreserved apologies to the people of Enugu and Nigerians in general for lying to them for political gains. The APC's stance is that the NDC's actions demonstrate their willingness to stop at nothing in their quest for power.

The incident has sparked concerns over the rising political tensions in Enugu State. The APC's reaction is seen as a move to counter the NDC's claims and assert its own position on the matter. The development is being closely watched by political observers and residents of Enugu State.
