Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is set to inaugurate the second edition of the El-Alamein International Airshow (EIAS 2026) at El-Alamein International Airport. The event, which runs from 8 to 10 September, will bring together aerospace, defence, and space professionals from Egypt, Africa, the Middle East, and other international markets. The airshow is expected to feature over 250 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and nearly 12,000 visitors.
During the airshow, El-Sisi will receive Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The Egyptian president will hold separate bilateral talks with Christodoulides and Mitsotakis before the three leaders convene under the Egypt-Greece-Cyprus Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism. The summit will address cooperation among the three countries and regional and international developments of mutual concern.
The El-Alamein airshow will feature a range of activities, including static aircraft displays, scheduled flying demonstrations, and an industry exhibition covering military and commercial aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, counter-drone systems, precision-guided weapons, and air- and missile-defence systems. The programme also includes an Aerospace Future Technology Symposium, which will cover future air power, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and space capabilities.
The airshow has attracted a diverse range of international exhibitors, including Airbus, Boeing, China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation, Dassault Aviation, and Lockheed Martin. Egyptian participants include the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), Ministry of Military Production, Petroleum Air Services, Air Cairo, and Nile Air. The international line-up reflects Egypt’s diversified aviation and defence relationships.
The second El-Alamein International Airshow has a strong focus on aerospace technology and international participation. The event is supported by the Ministry of Defence, the Egyptian Air Force, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and the Egyptian Space Agency, with EgyptAir serving as its official carrier. The airshow aims to provide a platform for international cooperation and the exchange of expertise in military, commercial, and private aircraft, aviation equipment, and space technology.
Notable aircraft expected to be on display at the airshow include Russia’s Su-57E, the export version of the fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter, and the US A-10C Thunderbolt II. The F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-15 Eagle are also among the aircraft to watch. The inaugural show in 2024 attracted over 200 exhibitors, 10,000 visitors, and over 50 aircraft from more than 80 countries.
The trilateral summit between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus aims to strengthen cooperation and address regional and international developments of mutual concern. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peace and stability in the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa during their previous summit in Cairo in January 2025. The second El-Alamein International Airshow is expected to further enhance Egypt’s aviation and defence relationships with its international partners.
