Aswan University recently participated in the implementation of the 'Confrontation and Touring Theater in Provinces' project, an initiative by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture to promote awareness and enhance the theatrical movement. The project, which runs from September 2026 to June 2027, aims to provide university students with opportunities to engage with the theatrical movement and benefit from specialized training programs.

In response to a letter from the Supreme Council of Universities, Aswan University selected 25 students to participate in a training workshop for the project. The workshop covers various aspects of theater, including acting, directing, and theater techniques, as part of the project's first phase, which took place from September 19 to 24, 2026.

Dr. Ashraf Imam, Acting President of Aswan University, emphasized the university's focus on student activities as a key component of the educational process. He noted that participation in the 'Confrontation and Touring Theater' project offers a valuable opportunity for discovering young talents and refining students' skills in the arts and theater.

Imam added that the university strives to provide a supportive environment for talented students, enabling them to benefit from specialized training programs and artistic experiences. This, he believes, opens up new avenues for creativity and active participation in cultural and artistic activities.

The Acting President of Aswan University highlighted the significance of art and theater in shaping students' personalities and developing their expression, communication, and teamwork skills. He assured that the university will continue to support its students' participation in various events, competitions, and cultural and artistic programs in collaboration with relevant state institutions.

The project's plan involves presenting theatrical performances in several provinces and conducting specialized training workshops for students and youth. This aims to enhance the discovery of theatrical talents, develop their capabilities, and reflect a trend towards expanding participation in artistic and cultural activities within and outside universities.

By engaging in such initiatives, Aswan University demonstrates its commitment to fostering artistic growth and providing students with diverse opportunities for creative expression and development. The 'Confrontation and Touring Theater' project is a testament to the university's dedication to promoting cultural and artistic activities among its students.
